Marvel Comic's Infinity

This is my rendition of the Cosmic Entity known as "Infinity" from Marvel Comics: https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Infinity_(Earth-616)

Not many of the Cosmic, 'Conceptual Entities' of the Marvel Comics Universe manifest as female, but this is one of the few ones that does, and for some reason she manifests wearing a ridiculously revealing 'bikini' :-)

I have a theory on this, but it hasn't been proven:  She first manifested to a mortal in the pages of "Quasar #24", to Wendell Vaughn, the possessor of the 'Quantum Bands' and the 'Protector of the Universe' (no pressure, huh? 🙂).

Wendell, at the time, was of course a young human male who was on the outs with his girlfriend, but had to put thoughts of her aside as he was battling the forces of Maelstrom, who was plotting to gain power that could end up threatening the universe in the long run.

Maybe his subconscious thoughts of his ex-girlfriend had something to do with Infinity manifesting in this way, as it read his thoughts and appeared in a form that wouldn't startle him?

Anyway, some rambling thoughts on the old 'Quasar' comic:
It was written by one of my favorite comic authors at the time, the late, great Mark Gruenwald.

This Cosmic Story he was crafting was really good, in my opinion.  The main bad buy was a D-List villain called Maelstrom, but by the end he had attained nearly Thanos level power.

Actually, that's really the sad thing, in my eyes.  This was a great story that rightfully should have involved the Avengers, at least, if not all the Marvel Comics Universe.

However, around the same time Jim Starlin had started his now famous "Infinity Gauntlet Saga", and the Quasar story just fell by the wayside.

There was one interesting moment where Maelstrom, at the nadir of his power, confronted Thanos, and taunts him saying that he 'can't conceive of anything greater than godhod'.  Of course Thanos blasts him out of existence, claiming that with the Gauntlet he is God.  Maelstrom reforms, and says one of the coolest lines ever: "In that case, Thanos, you've just met your first Athiest" 🙂
