I refer to my version as a 'Battlemind' because I always liked that particular class from the Psionic's Handbook (although in 3rd Edition Dungeons and Dragons they were called Psychic Warriors).
It seems as if not many D&D players like the Psionics rules for two reasons: They don't see psionics as fitting very well in a classic 'Fantasy' setting, and the rules from 1st edition were very messed up, making psionic characters much too powerful.
