A slight spoiler to follow, so be warned:
I have always wondered about the final fate of Misa from the anime (haven't read the manga yet). If I understand the "rules" correctly, she recieved the extended lifespans of TWO Shinagami (Jealous and Rem); does that make her damn near immortal?
If so, can she not die even if she tried (like suicide upon learning of Light's death)? I picture her coming back "Highlander" style after throwing herself off a roof top (the last scene you see of her in the anime).
Also, fans of Deathnote should see the live action versions; although they closely follow the anime to a point, there are some huge suprises that make you both hate Light even more and like "L" better.
I like the character "L" best of all the characters because he seems like a younger, 'Emo' version of Sherlock Holmes (with Light Yagami being his "Moriarty" ^_^).

As for her final fate, the Death Note databook (Volume 13) explains it.

Misa loses her memory of the Death Note again, but still loves Light (like the last time it happened).
She commits suicide on Valentine's Day of 2011 (the anime pushes the years forward a bit, so it's 2014 in the anime), after someone (the author says 'someone like Matsuda') lets it slip that Light's dead.

To be honest however, Misa comes off as a bit too monstrous in this picture. She always seemed to pride herself on her cuteness, and this picture doesn't convey that...
As to her looks, I was trying to go for a "cute goth' look, but the goth probably overwhelmed the cute (and the eyes I picked as well).
